SPESIFIKASI Toshiba TG01

Technology giants Toshiba and Fujitsu, Thursday (06/17/2010), said that they will combine cell phone business in Japan to become the second largest mobile phone maker in the country. Both companies have decided to join hands to strengthen their handset development, especially in terms of making a smart phone.

"By combining the power of technology and knowledge development of mobile phones, Fujitsu and Toshiba aims to improve the development capability of their handsets and at the same time improving business efficiency," said a joint statement to them.

Fujitsu makes phones for Japan's leading mobile operator, NTT DoCoMo. The Toshiba mainly supplies to the two leading operators, KDDI, although it also released a product to NTT DoCoMo and Softbank.

Japanese mobile phone makers adjust their partnership because they see it to boost their market share in mobile phone sector in a country saturated and competitive. Meanwhile, they also tried to expand into overseas markets.

To reinforce this partnership, Fujitsu and Toshiba plan to sign a cooperation contract at the end of July.
