Samsung launches Blu-ray Review, Price,Feature,Spec

Samsung Blu-ray The app craze is spilling further into the world of home theaters, with Samsung launching an application store for select 2010 Blu-ray players, HDTVs and home theaters.

Samsung’s store is an upgrade to its existing Internet@TV platform, which launched last year as a strip of widgets running along the bottom of the television screen. These included Flickr, Yahoo and others. The new app store will include offerings from Accedo Broadband, AccuWeather.com, The Associated Press,,Blockbuster, Fashion TV, Netflix, Picasa, Pandora, Rovi, Travel Channel, Twitter, USA TODAY and Vudu. More apps will be added later this year.

But photos issued by the consumer electronics maker on Monday showed the Blu-ray Disc player to have a gently curved top and the piano black finish that is currently so popular with consumer electronics products.

It will be shown along with new home theater systems and big-screen TVs that can be hung on the wall. Samsung, like other TV makers, is developing thinner flat-panel TVs and at CES will also show new wall mounts that enable the panels to be placed closer to the wall for an overall lower profile.

Last in the series is the BD-C5900, which lacks the 1GB built-in storage capacity offered in the first 3D two models. The BD-C7900 is available for $399 (MSRP), the BD-C6900 will cost $279 (MSRP) and the BD-C5900 is priced at $229 (MSRP). However, you can find the Samsung BD-C7900 at Amazon and Best Buy right now and the other players are likely to follow in the near future.

MAX2669 GPS LNAs Review,Feature,Price

MAX2669 GPS LNAs Review,Feature,Price

The MAX2667/MAX2669 provide the best performance, smallest size, and lowest current consumption available in the market, making them the clear choice for smartphones, personal navigation devices (PNDs), and other battery-powered handheld devices.

Each provide different linearity options to suit system requirements. The MAX2669 (at 4.5 dBm) provides approximately 8 dBm better in-band and out-of-band IIP3 than the MAX2667 (at –3.5 dBm), for a mere 4.0 mA extra supply current.

In addition, the MAX2667 is optimized for a low operating supply current of 4 mA typ. When not in use, both LNAs have an optional logic-enabled shutdown mode that reduces supply current to less than 1 µA.

The MAX2667/MAX2669 operate from a 1.6V to 3.3V supply. Fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius extended temperature range, they are available in an ultra-small, 0.86mm x 1.26mm, 6-pin WLP. Prices start at $0.54 (1000-up, FOB USA). The MAX2667EVKIT and MAX2669EVKIT are also available for bench-level evaluation. Pricing for the EV kits is $110.00 (each, FOB USA).

iPad 2 Review,Product detail,Price

iPad 2 Review,Product detail,Price
The fact that Apple will launch a new iPad, the iPad 2 at some point in early 2011 is crystal clear to anyone following this impressive tablet business. Apple took the lead in this computer niche with a new product and it can’t afford to lose that lead so a product refresh will probably be due in Q1 2011.

The next-gen iPad might kill various competitors since everyone is launching a their first-gen tablets now and that’s one more reason for Apple to come out with the iPad 2 when rivals will only have launched their first Tab, PlayBook, or any other device.

In other words, the next iPad could have a smaller bezel--the black area around the screen, and it won't teeter-totter or slide around when you press on something along the edges.

MacOtakara says a more substantial change to the exterior will be the location of the speaker, which could be moved from the side of the unit to the back. Presumably, this could keep someone who is holding the device in either portrait or landscape mode less of a chance of blocking the speaker holes. MacOtakara also says this speaker would be wide range, which could offer more evenly distributed audio at off-angle viewing.

One other small tweak MacOtakara is reporting is a change in the location to the iPad's ambient light sensor, which is moving from the front of the unit to the back. This would be a fairly large departure in location given where Apple keeps it on the current iPad, as well as on iPhones, iPods, iMacs, and its MacBook Pro and Air lines.

Speakal Cool iPig Preview,Price,Feature

Speakal Cool iPig Preview,Price,Feature

We are no strangers to Speakal’s adorable iPhone/iPod Speaker Docks. They have brought us the iPanda, iBoo, and iPig. Well today they have just launched the new Cool iPig. So what make this dock anymore special than the others, well for starters this pig looks bit more futuristic and it also is the first dock to respond to hand gestures and signs. The Cool Pig has built-in IR motion sensors, just place your hand in front of its face and it will start playing music, when you place your hand on the top of its left ear the volume will increase or place your hand in front of its nose and it will stop playing the music altogether.

The pigs snout has the controls for playing and pausing the tracks and those eyes are the speakers. The docking section on top of the Cool iPig will dock and charge the iPhone 4 and other iPhone devices as well as dockable iPods. The controls on top of the pig are motion sensing for volume and skipping tracks. The Cool iPig has an internal rechargeable battery and that battery can be removed. It will last for eight hours at a time so you can rock with your iPig outdoors away from an outlet.

The Cool iPig has a total power output of 23W and is a 2.1 speaker system with a sub and stereo speakers. The internal amp has 15W of power and the Cool iPig uses a bass reflex system. A wireless remote allows you to control the music on your iPhone from across the room. Other input sources can be used with the Cool iPig if they have a 3.5mm output. The introductory price for the Cool iPig is $149.99 and you can pre-order now with a promise of delivery before Christmas.

Super Talent USB 3.0 Virtual PC Preview,Price,Picture

Super Talent USB 3.0 Virtual PC Preview,Price,Picture

Super Talent today announced that they will begin offering Ceedo Personal with their USB 3.0 Express RAM CACHE flash drives. Ceedo Personal is a portable Windows environment that runs from a USB flash drive. It can transform a flash drive into a virtual PC.Using Ceedo, many standard Windows applications can now be made portable for use on any PC; making it possible for you to install, carry and run the same standard Windows applications that you already own and already know how to use.

We tried out the software on a couple of systems, having no issues on one, and a few quirks on the other. The quirky system needed a fiddle with security settings and some of the browser plug–ins disabled before the Ceedo Programs list would open. However, download tabs were greyed out, preventing us from installing anything from Ceedo’s application list. The fix is probably a simple one, but not something we’ve stumbled across to date. Just a heads up to check out the free 45 day trial here for compatibility and ease of use before you buy.

Each USB 3.0 Virtual PC drive includes the Ceedo Personal 4.0 and Backup & Restore bundle. With use of USB 3.0 interface and DRAM cache, Super Talent’s USB 3.0 Express RAM CACHE, combined with Ceedo, create a Windows Virtual PC environment that is FAST, flexible and totally portable.

The combination of the RAM Cache flash drive and Creedo makes using a virtual machine a snap and Super Talent figures that the offering is perfect for students that need to use a computer in a library or lab that is locked down preventing them from loading apps they want to run. The flash drive bundled with Creedo comes in three capacities including 16GB, 32GB, 64GB with prices of $79, $139, and $229.

Radeon HD 6870 Review,Product development,Feature,Price,Image

Radeon HD 6870 Review,Product development,Feature,Price,Image

It’s been 11 months since ATI last launched a new range of GPUs, and since then the graphics worlds has a distinctly red tinge to it rather than the green we’ve been so used to seeing. With Nvidia late to deliver a DX11 GPU, ATI had the market to itself and shipped 25 million DX11-compatible GPUs to gain first place in the discreet GPU market share. ATI has made considerable inroads in both the number of people using Radeon graphics cards and the number of game development houses using its hardware to optimise and tune their games.

The latter is a considerable victory for ATI, as the more games studios you work with, the more they’ll implement great ways of using your GPU’s features and architecture and the more stable your drivers should be. The HD 6000-series can therefore be seen as ATI’s tricky follow-up – there’s a lot at stake, meaning that ATI could either be really dominant in six months’ time, or drop the ball for Nvidia to pick up.

AMD Radeon™ HD 6870 GPU Feature Summary:

Ocosmos OCS1 Oak Trail-powered handheld Review,Price,Image,Product Development

Ocosmos OCS1 Oak Trail-powered handheld Review,Price,Image,Product Development

The words “gaming tablet” don’t come together very often, but when they do, man, watch out, because that’s when things like the Ocosmos OCS-1 show up. And that’s the kind of thing you don’t see every day. Seriously–when’s the last time you heard about a handheld PC that could run Starcraft II? And that’s what the folks at Ocosmos have to say about the OCS-1.

This little tablet is packing a whole lot of power in its tiny frame, boasting a 1.5 GHz Atom Oak Trail processor, a 32 gig solid state drive with expandable memory from there, a 4.8 inch touch screen with WSVGA resolution, GPS, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, a second rear facing camera with three megapixel resolution, Wi-Fi (with 3G expected later) and micro-HDMI capability.

The computer looks like a phone or a handheld gaming system, with direction-pad buttons on the sides, and a slide-up screen that reveals a QWERTY keyboard underneat.

Spec-wise,we’re looking at a 1.5GHz or 1.9GHz single core Atom Oak trail chip, a 400MHz graphics processor with support for HD video decoding, and 720p HD video encoding. It runs Windows 7.

The handheld has 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and 3G connectivity and a 5 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel capacitive touchscreen display. The computer has 32GB of stroage, a microSD card for expansion and a USB 2.0 port. It also has 2wo cameras – a rear-facing 5MP camera and a 1.3MP front-facing webcam.

But the best part about it, other than the awesome form factor and specs for such a small device, is the gaming aspect. The D-pads slide and click in eight directions, can be used and pressed down like analog sticks, and act as the mouse throughout Windows. There are right and left triggers on the top of the device. It’s like a PSP computer, with a real keyboard.

It’s got a pretty hefty feel, which is expected since it’s stuffed an entire Windows system into a 4.8” device form factor, and it fits nicely in your hand. The rear of the device is shaped such that the device is easy to hold when gaming and won’t tire out one’s hands. Unfortunately, due to the early Oak Trail silicon, the prototype was a barely functioning unit that made for a good industrial design/mechanical engineering sample, but things like the touchscreen and d-pads were not working. So the Ocosmos team has a bit of work ahead of them, but the OCS1 isn’t slated to ship until early next year, and we eagerly await the day we can get our hands on a finished product.

The TK-421 iPhone Case comes with a flip-out QWERTY keyboard, which is what you need if you’ve been retarded with using the virtual keyboard on the iPhone’s touchscreen. The existence of the TK-421 iPhone Case is because most users are still little unproductive with the iPhone’s touchscreen QWERTY. Some more, it’s a little burden for having to bring along an external Bluetooth keyboard. Therefore, with the TK-421 iPhone Case, you’re good to go and remain productive with its good tactile feedback anywhere you go. And of course it protects your iPhone from scratches and smudges.

The keyboard will work very well with any app such as e-mail, web browsing, notes, and calendar, while the fact that it uses a completely wireless Bluetooth connection means that it won't occupy the dock connector. Moreover, in order not to affect the iPhone's functionality, the keyboard is powered by a built in rechargeable battery that recharges via the included USB cable.

Unfortunately, as we've mentioned right from the start, the accessory from ThinkGeek will work just with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS models, simply because the older ones don't support the extra Bluetooth keyboard.

As far as pricing is concerned, we'd dare to say that ThinkGeek's not exactly exaggerated, since they charge around 50 US dollars for the TK-421 case, which is not that high a sum, given the extra level of functionality it enables.

TK-421 iPhone Case with Flip-Out Keyboard Features:

* Give your iPhone a real flip-out tactile keyboard
* Keyboard flips out for use, then flips back in when done
* Magnet based clasp keeps keyboard in position whether flipped in or out
* Increased typing accuracy and speed
* Precise hard clicky keys… not mushy rubber keys.
* Works with any app such as e-mail, web browsing, notes, and calendar
* Completely wireless Bluetooth™ connection does not use dock connector
* Keyboard powered by built in rechargeable battery, recharges via included USB cable
* Invented and designed here at ThinkGeek
* Models available to fit iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4

(Please note that the iPhone 3G will NOT work with this case. The OS does not support Bluetooth™ keyboards.)

Nokia X7-00 Review,Price,Product Development,Picture,Feature

Nokia X7-00 Review,Price,Product Development,Picture,Feature

Firstly, let's be absolutely clear that we don't know this is Nokia's X7, but given the polished, entertainment-centric design (it has four speakers, apparently), we're inclined to believe that it's the real deal. Its screen looks to be the same 4-inch affair as on Nokia's E7, it's running the latest Symbian OS (formerly known as Symbian^3), and pictures of its rear reveal an 8 megapixel camera. The last detail of import, naturally, is the reassurance that comes from knowing that this supposed X7 can crunch through Need for Speed quite nicely. Jump past the break to see it on video.

The display size is unspecified, but it looks to match the Nokia E7 at 4-inches. Onboard memory is 450MB with 245MB of RAM, and there’s a microUSB port and fixed battery. The X7-00 has four speakers, one at each corner, and is reportedly “very loud”.

There’s also a 3.5mm headphone socket on the top edge, and a new, angular casing design. No word on release date or pricing at this stage.

Apple Ipad 2 Review,Feature,Price,Product Development,Image

Apple Ipad 2 Review,Feature,Price,Product Development,Image
The internet loves Apple and it loves ill-founded speculation, so it's hardly surprising that iPad 2 rumours were flying before the first iPad even reached the UK.

As ever the iPad 2 release date, specifications and price are closely guarded secrets, but that doesn't mean there aren't some juicy rumours, inspired guesses and possibly even Apple leaks to consider surrounding the next iPad.

More storage

A full 64GB gives iPad owners plenty of room for music, videos and apps, but how is it that a device this large still has less storage than the pocket-sized 160GB
iPod Classic that came out in 2007? We expect Apple to push capacity to 128GB next time around, even if they do decide to mark it up five times the actual cost of the memory.
4G connectivity

If Apple wants to continue to position the iPad as a netbook alternative, 4G will become a necessity. Apple’s sweetheart deal with AT&T may pose a problem, since the company has yet to roll out any 4G service areas, but if plans to begin deploying it in 2011 hold true, Apple might just be able to offer it in the next-gen iPad next spring. On the other hand, if the contract ends, Apple might be able to produce a WiMax version and sell it on networks like Sprint.
Regular SIM tray

Was there ever any need to shrink the iPad’s SIM card a few millimeters and sacrifice standardization in a device the size of a book? Absolutely not: Using the oddball micro SIM was one more attempt to keep 3G iPads on AT&T instead of wandering off onto other GSM networks through unlocking. Let’s hope Apple stops letting its worse half call the shots, and gets it right next time around.
Flat back

Ever set your iPad on a table  you know, like you would with a book? It wobbles and spins around like a dreidel in December. We get the whole curvy design Apple was going for, but let’s face it, it’s just plain impractical. Make it flat so we can actually set it down on a coffee table without watching it break dance.

iPad 2 specs: cameras and a better screen

Gizmodo reckons that FaceTime support's a given, and that means a front-facing camera like the iPhone 4. We'll be amazed if the iPad second generation is camera-free.

iPad 2 specs: retina display

Will the gorgeous screen from the iPhone 4 make its way to the iPad? The Apple Blog thinks so: "You can be sure that Apple's Retina Display, or something very close, will make its way to iPad".

Then again, such a screen would massively increase the number of pixels, increasing the demands on both the iPad's processor and its battery, so a nine-inch Retina Display probably isn't imminent. A seven-inch might be possible, though, but that depends on
